The online hackathon is an invention marathon centered around fake news construction, risks and manipulation on social media. It is meant to bring people locally together in VET centres and globally in a virtual space to create solutions to tackle fake news.
Mostly used in the tech world, the hackathon is a tool to drive innovation and collaboration to address real problems and social issues.
The main goal of this hackathon is to crowd source new ideas to problems like fake news, racism, hate speech and disinformation.
